A former member of the Delta State House of Assembly for Ethiope East Constituency, Hon Evance Ivwurie has been cautioned to desist from abusing the state Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa over ongoing lobbies for the position of Vice President to the Presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Ivwurie, who is a native of Abraka community recently attacked and made some unsubstantiated claims on why Okowa should not be considered and chosen as the VP to the PDP presidential flag bearer, Atiku Abubakar.
However, his kinsmen on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, disagreed with him and wholeheartedly condemn his reckless vituperation and open vilification of the governor.
Ivwurie’s kinsmen under the auspices of Concerned Abraka People in Politics condemned his action saying the governor does not deserve it at all.
In a statement signed by Professor Andrew Ekakitie, Dr Kings Okpako, Hon. Anthony Edafiogho and Hon. Anthony Ajaino, the group noted that Ivwurie’s actions are entirely his own and not a representation of the mood of the community.
They went further to say that “Abraka people are not known to be that foully loquacious.
“We hereby dissociate ourselves from his malefaction.
“Governor Okowa has been nice to Abraka Community and its people since he became governor of Delta State.
“Governor Okowa, to the best of our knowledge, has assisted him so much that it is satanic to attribute the political woes of this our kinsman, on the innocent governor. He must realize that his electoral value is near zero even in his own unit.
“Governor Okowa is eminently qualified to hold the position of the Vice president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria if our great Party, the PDP so deemed it fit. Therefore we are solidly behind the governor in his quest.
“We hereby admonish our fellow kinsmen to desist from any manner of calumnious campaign.
“We, therefore, enjoined the general public to disregard all his write-ups and please note the stand of the Abraka people.”
