The national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has assigned the leader of the Hivoltage Movement in Delta State, Olorogun Jaro Egbo as the Chairman of the Kogi State National Assembly Screening Committee.
Recall that the Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at a rally held at the Ughelli Township Stadium, officially received Egbo, a lawyer and his group back to the PDP from the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Egbo’s National Assembly Screening Committee in Kogi State has as members, Barr Anthony Bamidele Ojo, Hon Bem Dzoho and Barr James Dogu while Barr Moses Ede will serve as Secretary.
NewsNet Nigeria gathered that Egbo’s appointment was facilitated by Governor Okowa, who has been very impressed with the huge grassroot following of the Hivoltage leader as clearly demonstrated during the PDP mega rally to receive him and his followers back to the PDP family in the state.
A statement by the PDP National Organising Secretary, Hon Umar Bature fixed State House of Assembly and National Assembly (Senate & Reps) on Wednesday, April 27, 2022; Gubernatorial: Thursday, April 28, 2022, and Presidential: Friday, April 29, 2022.
According to the statement, all screening appeals will be entertained on Tuesday, May 3, 2022.
Olorogun Jaro Egbo, until his recent return to the PDP, was a major force behind the soaring moves by the Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, to wrestle power from the PDP after 24 years of governing the state.
