Voting has commenced in various polling units across Wards in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.
Distribution of electoral materials at the Otor-Udu office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, was concluded before 9am.
There was a little delay however with the commencement of accreditation and voting at various poling units due the absence of results which the agents of political parties present insisted must be made available before the exercise can start.
Within a short interval the INEC Supervising Presiding Officer, SPO, went round to hand over the result sheets to Presiding Officers at the polling units and the exercise began.
In Ughelli South Local Government Area voting was also going on smoothly at polling units 1, 5 and 19 in Ovwor community as well as other units in the area.
Some voters commended INEC for the effective working of the BVAs and urged the electoral umpire to continue to improve on it for future elections.
There is a heavy presence of security personnel particularly the military at strategic points in the two local government areas with the exercise going on smoothly.
