As the July 13 local government council elections approaches in Delta State, the State Orientation Bureau on Sunday called on all eligible voters in the state to come out en masse to cast their vote for chairmanship and councillorship candidates of their choice in all DSIEC ward across the 25 local government areas.

The Bureau in a statement by the Chief Executive Officer, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, and made available to newsmen in Asaba, the state capital, emphasized the need for leaders of political parties, stakeholders, and candidates to continue to appeal to their party faithful, and supporters on the need to conduct themselves peacefully during the forthcoming local government council elections across the state.

Dr Oghenesivbe urged Youths in the state to consistently shun violence, and direct their youthful, and surplus energies towards productive ventures that would advance their good ambitions while urging them not to make themselves available as political thugs or paid trouble shooters during the forthcoming local council elections in the state.

The State Orientation Bureau also appealed to political gladiators and members of the fourth estate of the realm not to relent in their efforts to promote values, hard work, patriotism, and honesty, at all times, saying that as leaders of tomorrow our youths, ought to be nurtured politically, and not to be used as tools for violence.

Dr. Oghenesivbe further stated that the state governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, had consistently assured stakeholders across political divides that under his watch as governor for all Deltans, council elections shall be conducted transparently, freely, and fair, which is freely fairly meaning Deltans must of a necessity do the needful to sustain the good measure of peace currently enjoyed in the state.

The State Orientation Bureau Chief described gGovernorOborevwori as a Governoremocrat and a visionary leader who will stop at nothing to ensure that equity, justice, and fairness prevail in all state affairs in line with his GGod-given good conscience, and strong determination to Advance Delta in all ramifications.

“Local Government Council Elections is here again, and it is very important that all leaders of political parties, as well as candidates across political divides, continue to promote democratic values, patriotism, and honesty,.

“There is no doubt whatsoever that the elections shall be transparent, free, and fair as, assured by the State governor and Chief Security Officer of the state, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, JP. He’s a promise keeper, a dependable leader, and a core Democrat.

“I urge our vibrant and energetic youths to continue to deploy their youthful and surplus energies into productive ventures that would advance their good ambitions in life and never make themselves available as political thugs or paid trouble shooters during the forthcoming local council elections in the state.

“It’s time for our youths to wise up, be positively and deeply involved in progressive politics, and above all, to promote peace and peaceful coexistence in their respective communities across the 25 local government areas in the state.

“Election is an integral part of our constitutional democracy and representative government. It is your constitutional right to vote for the candidates of your choice on Saturday, July 13, 20,24,” Oghenesivbe said.
