The re-elected Chairman of Sapele Local Government in Delta State, Hon Eugene Inoaghan on Friday, March 12, 2021, sworn in Hon. Richard Ogirisen Councilor, ward one, Hon Peter Eferurie Adjemiyotan, ward nineteen and eighteen other councillors at the council secretariat in Sapele.
Hon Inoaghan charged the newly elected councillors to be diligent in their duties as they represent the people of their respective wards in the Sapele Local Government Legislative Arm.
The Sapele Council boss appreciated the Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa for his impartial and fatherly role in the March 6, 2021, local government election in the state.
He commended leaders of the Sapele chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for their unalloyed support as well as all those who in one way or the other assisted the party to emerge victoriously.
Hon Peter Eferurie Adjemiyotan one of the newly sworn-in councillors representing the people of ward 18, who spoke to newsmen said that he was very elated to have been elected to serve the people of his ward noting that he will continue with the projects that he started in Ozue community.
Hon Adjemiyotan listed some of the projects he had executed to assist the people of ward 19 to include water borehole, educational materials, financial and healthcare-related support.
He said, “I thank the leaders and electorates who voted for me and I want to assure the people whom I represent that I will bring more developments to Ozue and carry everyone along, irrespective of party affiliation.”
Hon Churchill Ayomanor, who spoke in the same vein said that it was expedient for the Seventh Assembly of the Legislative Arm to work in synergy with the Council Chairman and his cabinet to bring massive development to Sapele Council Area.
He noted that as Councillors they are saddle with the responsibility to serve the people whom they represent and do their best to ensure that the people benefit from government projects adding that it can only be achieved through harmony and readiness to serve.
Hon Richard Ogirisen, who also could not hide his joy told journalists after the swearing-in ceremony that he holds all the praise to God Almighty for his re-election.
He thanked Chief Felix Anirah and other leaders, who supported him wholeheartedly, promising to serve with more devotion and dedication in his second tenure.
The newly elected Councillors of ward 3, Hon Ubogu Vieri Rukevwe, ward 6, Hon Nasir Ado, ward 7, Hon Ejemighaye Stanley Kogoro, ward 8, Hon Ovo Abeke, ward 9, Hon Raymond Ukubeyinje and ward 12, Hon Henry Temisan also to reeled their plans for the people of their various wards.
They promised to work in line with the party’s objectives to provide the dividends of democracy.
For ward 6 and 9, Hon Nasir Ado and Hon Raymond Ukubeyinje promised to provide borehole water as the first project they will be embark on in their wards.
The 7th Legislative Assembly of the Sapele Legislative Assembly has Hon Solomon Aligba, Deputy Leader, Hon Mrs Caroline Okpako, Majority Leader, Hon Ubogu Vieri Rukevwe, Deputy Majority Leader, Hon Raymond Ukubeyinje, Chief Whip and Hon Duke Azan, Deputy Chief Whip.
Other councillors sworn-in include, Hon Monday Eigbodu, ward 2, Hon Lucky Ajamikoko, ward 5, Hon (Mrs) Christiana Amitaye, ward 10, Hon Gabriel Ochuko Omofeye, ward 11, Hon Samuel Ifude, ward 13, Hon Clifford Ishuni, ward 15, Hon Excellent Avwigborighe, ward 17 and Hon Samuel Azu, ward 18.
Present at the swearing-in ceremony are the Vice-Chairman of Sapele Local Government Council, Hon Vincent Ayomanor, Chief Mrs Margret Unukegwor, Mr Tuetue, Olorogun Benson Odjiyovwi Okorodudu, Hon Bright Abeke Afure, Joyce Jemirherhi, Hon Harrison Ekeleme, Chief Omiemie Adibor, Chief Godday Okpako, Hon Joseph Atsheyinju, Hon Paul Owumi, and a host of other dignitaries.
