Fidelis Adjogbe, the Senior Special Assistant (Political) to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has raised the alarm of a plot to eliminate him by armed men allegedly hired by a founding leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, OON during Saturday’s governorship and House of Assembly elections.
Adjogbe told NewsNet Nigeria late Friday night that Olorogun Emerhor is frustrated and desperate to use hired thugs to kill him during the conduct of the two elections because he made him lose his Ward 8 of Evwreni community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on February 25, 2023, presidential and National Assembly elections.
As part of efforts to forestall the abysmal performance of the APC in Saturday’s elections in Evwreni community according to Adjogbe, Olorogun Emerhor has allegedly secured the services of some armed men to murder him during the elections of 18 March.
Adjogbe named Marcus Omohwo Uba as the arrowhead of the armed men being sponsored by Emerhor to carry out the dastardly act on Saturday.
He listed other sponsors as Donatus Uba and Hon. Victor Ohare, in a move by Olorogun Emerhor to save his face from defeat the second time following the determination of the people of Evwreni community to massively vote for PDP at the polls.
“We are preparing very well though we are having some security challenges. Emerhor has paid one of his boys, Marcus Omohwo Uba by name to bring arms and ammunition to Evwreni; that I am the target, they should kill me, that I made him to lose the presidential elections.
“He actually reached people that tomorrow (Saturday) I should be assassinated, or I should be shot.
“I am by this alarm alerting security agents, all Evwreni indigenes in particular and Deltans at large that if anything should happen to me on Saturday, 18 March, during and after the elections, O’tega Emerhor, Donatus Uba, Ohare Victor, and Marcus Uba should be held responsible.
“I am not the Evwreni people who voted against them in the past elections, Adjogbe concludes,” said Adjogbe.
Recall that Sylvester Adjogbe, the immediate younger brother to Fidelis Adjogbe, was assassinated in a similar manner in Evwreni on July 1, 2020.
The perpetrators of the heinous act are currently undergoing trial in the court of law.
