Delta State Government has released special traffic control arrangements to Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, the venue for the inauguration of the state governor-elect, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori on Monday, May 29, 2023.
The Secretary to the State Government and Chairman Inauguration Committee, Chief Patrick Ukah, in a statement on Friday, appealed for the cooperation of the general public on the guidelines for traffic control for the ceremony as “they have been put in place to ensure public safety and the general good of all”.
Ukah in the statement said the special traffic control arrangements entail the following guidelines below:
1) all persons coming to the inauguration venue in their vehicles from the Okpanam/Anwai end of Nnebisi Road are to drive into Anglican Girls Grammar School (AGGS) grounds to park their vehicle and then proceed to
the stadium on foot;
2) similarly, persons coming from the Cable Point/ Niger Bridge End of Nnebisi Road are to park their vehicles in the Oshimil Arcade grounds;
3) all the link roads to Nnebisi Road lying between Anglican Girls Grammar School, Asaba and the SlLOT Office at Maduemezia Road Junction would be barricaded;
4) there will be no vehicular access to the stadium except on very special permits. Therefore, all attending persons are strongly advised to enter the stadium on foot;
5) three (3) pedestrian access ways into the stadium have been provided at the following points:
a) the stadium gate directly opposite Mr. Biggs eatery;
b) the stadium gate at the opposite end of the Stadium fence by Mountain of Fire Street junction; and
c) the stadium gate at the rear of the stadium also on the Mountain of Fire street.
