The immediate past State Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta State, Otunba Nick Ovuakporie, delivered his Oyede Ward 12 in Isoko North Local Government Area for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the just concluded governorship and House of Assembly elections.
Ovuakporie, who recently defected to the PDP, in the governorship election results released by Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, the PDP polled 1,347 votes while the APC scored 1,020.
The LP, NNPP and SDP got 12, 17 and 10 votes respectively.
In the House of Assembly election result in the ward, PDP polled 1,315, APC 336 votes, LP scored 23 votes and SDP secured 716.
Ovuakporie told NewsNet Nigeria that the outcome of the results in favour of the PDP in Oyede Ward 12 and beyond is a reflection of the giant strides of the administration of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in Isoko Nation and across the state.
“The development initiatives of the Okowa-led administration in the past seven years dot the nooks and crannies of Delta State. Governor Okowa no doubt ran an administration that is passionate about the even development of the state.
“The PDP which has held sway in Delta State since 1999 has continued to deliver on its promises to the people which translates into the overwhelming victory of the party at the polls.
“The people of Oyede Ward 12 are proud to deliver their votes for the PDP governorship candidate, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori and the House of Assembly candidate for the area and are optimistic that the PDP would continue to consolidate on its achievements in the past years,” said Ovuakporie.
