The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, recently received into their fold decampees in Egbo Kokori, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State as momentum builds up ahead of the July 13, 2024, local government elections in the state.
The decampees were welcomed by the Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo, flanked by the PDP Chairman, Ethiope East, Hon. Felix Erhumedafe, as well as the facilitator of the decamped persons, Dr. Ben Edoja at Egbo Kokori DESIEC, Ward 10 in the Local Government Area.
The decampees led by the President General of Samagidi Community, Mr Emmanuel Urhuarhovie, First Vice President General of Kokori Progressive Union, Chief Aghwute and Mr Godwin Etarigbenu included former members of PDP who are now back following the intervention of Egbo-Kokori Ward 10 leader, Dr Ben Edoja.
The process is a preparatory effort by the party in Ward 10 ably led by the leader Dr Edoja to achieve a landslide victory in the July 13 Local Government elections.
The Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo flanked by the Ethiope East PDP chairman Hon. Felix Erhumedafe and Ward Chairman commended the ward for their tenacity and work aimed at seeing an overwhelming victory for the party especially the leadership of the ward.
The facilitator of the decamp exercise and leader of the party in the Ward, Dr Ben Edoja, enjoined the decampees to see themselves as part of the PDP family as they are all already bonafide members.
He maintained that ahead of the Local Government polls, all hands must be on deck to ensure total victory for the party assuring that the PDP has all that it takes to clinch all seats as all the party seats at the nucleus of development in the Ethiope East Local Government Area.
Dr Edoja added that the Delta State Governor’s MORE Agenda completely encapsulates the needs of Delta State hence it is a total package, charging them to support the Governor for the dividend of democracy to be felt across board.
The decampees led by the President General of Samagidi community, Mr Emmanuel Urhuarhovie, First Vice President General of Kokori Progressive Union, Chief Aghwute and Mr Godwin Etarigbenu thanked the party leadership for the warm reception with a promise to work massively for the party.
The decampees from other political parties at Egbo-Kokori were over 200 hundred.
