By Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe

The most talked about and generally accepted governorship aspirant in the ongoing contestation for who becomes the successor of the incumbent governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, has purchased the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, expression of interest and nomination forms for the governorship election.

Oborevwori who was clouded by an array of big-time politicians which include; the Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Christopher Ocho, Managing Director of DESOPADEC, Bashorun Askia Ogie and others; displayed the forms which signal the commencement of another active politicking as all aspirants brace up for the party primaries scheduled to hold in the month of May, this year.

Oborevwori, who is obviously the most visible and prominent governorship aspirant in the present dispensation assured his teeming supporters and party faithful that his political associates will of a necessity set up pre-party primaries structures and electioneering strategies that would see him victorious to fly the party’s flag in the gubernatorial elections next year.

He said his MORE Agenda captures the very essence of good governance, covering all aspects of infrastructure development and socio-economic transformation needed to build on the SMART and Stronger Delta Agendas of the platinum governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, adding that those who are not comfortable with his genuine plans to advance the economic fortunes of the state as encapsulated in his MORE blueprint have little or nothing to offer the State and the People.

He urged Delegates to massively vote him as PDP candidate in May so that the party can win the governorship election in a landslide victory, noting that it is only a very popular and generally accepted politician like him can win the governorship election with ease.

“I have obtained the expression of interest and nomination forms to demonstrate my total commitments to contest and win the 2023 governorship election.

“We are in this together. I believe in One God, One People and One Delta. I come as a Unifier. Support my candidacy by joining the SHERIFFIED political advocacy group currently spreading like wild wire across the state.

“I appreciate all well-meaning Deltans for the massive support so far. Words are not enough to thank my colleagues and staff in the Delta State House of Assembly for believing in my leadership abilities and capabilities.

“To Delta Political Vanguard, DPV, you adopted me as your preferred consensus governorship candidate. Be rest assured that your decision will yield excellent results for Delta State, Deltans and society in general. In advancing Delta, I will do MORE.

“I am expecting more endorsements in the days, weeks and months ahead. I promise to adequately justice the confidence you reposed in me by advancing Delta in all aspects of endeavours, such that you will be glad you did. This is my firm promise and assurance as you roll out your political structures to support my candidacy under the PDP.

“I appreciate all my friends, the SHERIFFIED family and all party faithful rooting for my candidacy in the forthcoming party primaries.

“To all Delegates, your individual vote is what I need to do MORE in advancing the socioeconomic fortunes and overall development of Delta State,” Oborevwori added.
