Delta 2023: Agege ought to be in jail, can’t be governor – Okowa’s Eac

Assistant Deputy Director, Media and Publicity of Campaign Council Management Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State, Chief Barr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has again called on the Inspector General of Police, to arrest and prosecute the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, over his alleged involvement in the stealing of mace in the hallowed chamber of the Senate of Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Oghenesivbe made the call on Saturday in a statement made available to newsmen, in a swift reaction to what he called “Agege’s verbal diarrhea” at the Presidential campaign of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Warri, Delta State, saying that the federal lawmaker was sounding like a broken record during his uncoordinated speech at the campaign of borrowed crowd, devoid of articulation of policies and programmes.

He noted that in advanced Democratic nations like the United States of America, the United Kingdom and many others, the likes of Senator Agege ought to be gnashing his teeth behind bars for his alleged glaring roles in the criminal act committed by him and those he allegedly hired to steal mace in broad daylight in the hallowed chamber of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Oghenesivbe, who is also the Executive Assistant on Communications to the Vice Presidential Candidate of PDP and governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, said when Agege committed similar criminal offences of perjury and document fraud by lying on Oath and also forging the signature of his client in the United States of America, he was prosecuted and punished by deleting his name from the roll call of practising lawyers.

He lamented that the APC national government and Buhari administration for obvious reasons decided to frustrate investigation and prosecution of Senator Agege, and in the same token elevated the status of an alleged common criminal by rewarding him with the position of Deputy Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

He said Senator Agege and others allegedly and willfully desecrated the Red Chambers to protect and prevent the foreseeable lawful impeachment of a clueless and non-performing President, adding that Nigeria could have been saved from the present economy failures and acute insecurity if not for the alleged criminal act of Agege who criminally obstructed the lawful impeachment of a confused President who knew next to nothing in governance.

Okowa’s EAC further posited that it was a total disservice to Nigeria by the APC failed national government to have compensated an alleged mace runner with the office of Deputy Senate President, pointing out that Nigeria is in near total collapse because of the likes of Senator Agege and the Buharists of this world.

He urged the Inspector General of Police to again play the video showing those who stole the mace, and the national assembly member who accompanied the criminals from the scene of crime on that particular day in history.

Oghenesivbe said the video captured Senator Agege in the company of the criminals, he escorted them from the floor of the Senate while security operatives watched helplessly, noting that the video and CCTV footage will provide enough evidence to prosecute and jail the alleged culprits including Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.

Speaking on the issue of betrayal, for which Agege referred to Gov Okowa as Judas Iscariot, Oghenesivbe said there was never a time his boss and Vice Presidential Candidate of PDP betrayed his brother governors, noting that PDP as a party decided not to zone the Presidential ticket which was agreed by the entire PDP structure.

He pointed out that Okowa as a loyal party man could not have rebelled against the party, and had to abide by the decisions reached at the apex leadership meeting, which was why all aspirants from the six geopolitical zones went to the field to test their popularity, adding that at the end of the Presidential primary, the former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was declared the candidate of the party.

“It is common knowledge that the governor of Delta State hosted the meeting of Southern Governors where they agreed on a Southern President for obvious reasons. However, PDP decided not to zone the Presidential ticket and stakeholders were satisfied with that decision. Okowa did not initiate the idea of “no zoning.” it was a decision of a special committee that was adopted by the apex decision-making body of PDP. Okowa never betrayed anybody and will have no reason to do so in the future.

“The presidential primary was conducted, free and fair and Atiku Abubakar won gallantly. His victory was applauded by well-meaning Nigerians. In all of this, where did Okowa betray Southern Governors? No betrayal at all.

“And there was never a time APC and PDP governors decided to collapse structures to promote a particular presidential candidate in Southern Nigeria. The two political parties; APC and PDP operate at their separate wavelengths. Therefore, APC must carry her neck-breaking load of bad governance, and let Okowa be.

It’s also common knowledge that APC regime mismanaged the vibrant economy it inherited from PDP in 2015. Media propaganda and lies can never cure the abysmal performance of APC national government under the joint leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari and Alhaji Bola Ahmed Jagaban Asiwaju Emilokan Tinubu.

“Senator Ovie Augustine Omo-Agege’s verbal diarrhea at the Presidential campaign in Warri on Saturday goes to no issue. APC is already a decomposition reptile and no amount of badmouthing, media propaganda and insults on Okowa can bring APC back to life. The party is dead and buried in Nigeria.

“In all of Senator Agege’s empty campaign talk on Saturday in Warri, he could not point to one APC federal government project in Delta State. He lied severally that he empowered communities across Delta State, but he was unable to mention the names of those communities and the level of the so-called empowerment that he provided. A mace runner has nothing to offer the good people of Delta State.

“One thing is sure, APC and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu cannot win the 2023 presidential election, no matter the level of political deception, propaganda, insults and blackmail. Those days are gone forever. APC is already decomposing! It stinks.

“APC could not maintain federal Trunk A roads from Warri through Eku to Abraka down to Onitsha. That road is completely in bad shape, death traps and shame to APC national government where Senator Agege is galavanting as Deputy Senate President.

“Another Federal Trunk A road from Warri to Sapele and to Benin City remained a blood-sucking channel as accidents occur regularly due to lack of maintenance. These are facts which Senator Agege cannot use media propaganda and political deception to cover. Agege could not point at any federal government project since May 29, 2015, till date in Delta State.

“Okowa’s great achievements in Delta State are in prints, beamed to millions of viewers across Nigeria on weekly basis via Channels TV, AIT, TVC, State-owned radio and television stations. Deltans are very happy with the monumental achievements of the Okowa administration in the health and education sectors, infrastructure development, peace and security, youth empowerment via Yagep, Rysa, Step, Girl Child empowerment, and several others.

“Senator Agege and his APC propagandists including Alhaji Bola Ahmed Emilokan Tinubu, must of a necessity witness the swearing-in ceremony of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, as President and Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on May 29, 2023. Name-calling and bad belle politics in this electioneering era cannot revive or rapture the already decomposing APC party,” Oghenesivbe assured.
