CDHR elects three new executive members for Delta branch

The Committee for the Defence of Human Rights, CDHR on Sunday elected three new executive members to pilot the affairs of the Delta State Branch.

The new executive emerged during the CHDR’s general congress held in Warri.

They were voted and elected by delegates from six units out of the existing seven units of the CDHR under the supervision of the National General Secretary, Comrade Chibuzor Chikwendu.

The new members are Comrade Jonathan Giama, Comrade Charles Okwene and Comrade Perpetual Okploko, Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer respectively.

The election was conducted by a three-man electoral committee comprising, Comrade(Elder) Charles Parker.O. Ojor, Comrade Judith Omereyone and Comrade Alex Ovwohwo.

In a chat with DAILY POST, the CDHR National General Secretary, Comrade Chibuzor Chikwendu urged the new executive to adhere to the constitution of the CDHR to succeed.

He warned that “If they fail, disciplinary actions will be taken against them.”

Comrade Chikwendu also congratulated members of the new executive on their emergence in a peaceful, free and fair election.

Also in a chat, the new Delta State Branch Chairman of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights, CDHR, Comrade Jonathan Giama said his administration will address and tackle all grievances within the organization with a view unite all warring parties for good.

Present at the CDHR Congress were the former National President, Comrade Sunny Enenuwevdia and Comrade Prince Kehinde Taiga, Acting National President.
