The purported emergency National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Thursday has been cancelled.
The cancellation of the meeting followed a letter written by President Muhammadu Buhari directing the Yobe state Governor, Mai Mala Buni to return as the chairman of the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning (CECPC) of the party.
National Secretary of the APC, Sen. John Akpanudoedehe in a statement on Wednesday said: “As directed by the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning (CECPC) and Governor of Yobe State, H.E. Mai Mala Buni, a purported emergency meeting of the Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) slated for Thursday, March 26, 2022, is hereby cancelled.”
Acting chairman of the Caretaker Committee and Governor of Niger State, Abubakar Bello had fixed the meeting to consider amongst others the ratification of decisions regarding the forthcoming national convention of the party.
