Leaders and elders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, have resolved to work in unity under the leadership of the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Olorogun Festus Keyamo.

This was part of the resolutions reached on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, during the APC Uvwie Unity meeting hosted by the Olorogun Keyamo, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) at his Effurun residence.

Parked full at a Hall in the Effurun residence of Olorogun Keyamo were all the key players in the politics of Uvwie Local Government Area.

From the smiles on their faces and friendly interactions, one can hardly decipher if these notable Uvwie sons and daughters in politics have been in opposing camps or political parties.

As the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Olorogun Keyamo, clearly puts it, the recent coming together of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, and the APC in Delta State was a merger, and not a crossing over nor defection.

He, therefore, described the APC Uvwie Unity meeting as a gathering of equals to ensure the overwhelming victory of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in the 2027 general elections.

Olorogun Keyamo noted that the unity meeting marks a new beginning in the political annals of Uvwie Local Government Area, where Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has significantly manifested his administration’s MORE agenda.

Among those who harped on the sustenance of the unity amongst the political class in Uvwie to sustain the tempo of development in the area, were the Chairman of the Delta State Internal Revenue Service, Hon. Solomon Ighrakpata, the member representing Uvwie Constituency in Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Emakpor Edafe, Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council, Chief Anthony Ofoni, former member of the House of Representatives, Hon Evelyn Oboro, one-time chairman of Uvwie Local Government, Hon Henry Baro, former State Commissioner, Engr. Matthew Tsekiri and Uvwie APC State Officer, Hon Okorefe Mudiaga.

They acknowledged the unprecedented development strides of Governor Oborevwori in Uvwie, pledging to work under the leadership of Olorogun Keyamo to build a virile and united APC.

Also, part of the six-point resolutions reached at the meeting was that in working together, there are no old and new APC members, with all being entitled to the same privileges and opportunities under the APC.

In addition, it was resolved that Uvwie Kingdom will henceforth speak in one voice under APC, as all differences of the past have been put behind them for the good of the people and development of the local government area and the state.
