President Muhammadu Buhari is expected tonight Saturday to meet with the presidential aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Buhari is also expected to make known his preferred presidential candidate at the meeting slated for 8pm at the presidential villa, Abuja.
Recall that the president had on Tuesday before departing Abuja to Madrid, Spain, met with APC governors during which he requested them to allow him to pick his successor.
13 out of the 23 presidential aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) that appeared before the APC seven-man Presidential Screening Committee headed by John Odigie Oyegun have been cleared to participate in the party’s presidential primary scheduled for Monday, June 6, 2022.
Oyegun in the Committee’s report submitted on Friday to the APC National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, said 10 of the presidential aspirants were disqualified.
Following the submission of the Committee’s report, the camps of the various APC presidential aspirants have intensified efforts to garner support from the party’s delegates in favour of their respective Principals.
