There is jubilation and excitement amongst members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State especially in the camp of the foremost political lobby group for the realisation of power shift to Delta Central Senatorial of the state christened Delta Central 2023 (DC-23), following the emergence of the group’s arrowhead, Senator Ighoyota Amori, as the Deputy National Organising Secretary of the party.
Amori, who is the National Chairman of DC-23, emerged Deputy National Organizing Secretary of the PDP after he was returned unopposed in the just concluded National convention of the PDP held in Abuja.
In a statement by the National Publicity Secretary of DC-23, Olorogun Arthur Akpowowo, described the election of Amori as Deputy National Organizing Secretary as a square peg in a square hole.
The group in the statement expressed confidence that Amori would make the PDP proud being a very creative, innovative and determined personality, who at all strives to make a difference in any position assigned to him.
The lobby group advised Senator Amori to use his new office to promote unity, fair play and enthrone internal democracy within the party’s fold.
“We congratulate the elected Deputy National Organizing Secretary elect of our great party, PDP, other elected officials, leaders of the party, governor of Delta State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, the delegates and every member of our great party on the successful conclusion of the elective convention, held 30th and 31st of December, 2023 in Abuja.
“It is, therefore our prayers that the almighty God, shall direct the steps of the National Chairman-elect, Deputy National Organizing Secretary-elect and the other elected officials, in their avowed determination to enthrone internal democracy and repositioning of the party towards achieving the desired overwhelming victory in the forthcoming 2023 general election,” the statement concludes.
