Ondo State Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Thursday presided over the State Executive Council Meeting.

The last time the meeting was held was on August 14, 2023.

The Chief of Protocol, Bola Alabi, had in a statement on Wednesday disclosed that the meeting would be held on Thursday, November 30, 2023, behind closed doors as the media were not permitted to cover it.

The meeting also had in attendance the Chief of Staff, Gbenga Ale; Commissioners of Information, Bamidele Ademola-Olateju; Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Amidu Takuro, and others.

Last week Friday, President Bola Tinubu invited members of the State Executive Council; that of the House of Assembly and the Deputy Governor to the State House in Abuja to mediate in the political logjam in Ondo State.

Since his return to Nigeria in September, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has been living in Ibadan, while his deputy, Aiyedatiwa was facing impeachment from the Assembly.

Mr Tinubu’s intervention came after elder statesman, Pa Reuben Fasoranti wrote a letter to him.

Also, on Tuesday, November 28, notable indigenes of Ondo State in the diaspora and at home, wrote an open letter to the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Olusegun Odusola to mandate the State Executive Council to instruct the House of Assembly to constitute a medical inquiry that would ascertain if the Governor is fit to carry on his duties.
