Adjogbe congratulates Oborevwori, says he was destined to be governor

The Senior Special Assistant (Political) to the Delta State Governor, Mr Fidelis Adjogbe, has said that Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori who was on Monday afternoon declared the winner of last Saturday’s gubernatorial election was destined by God to emerge as governor at this time of the political history of the state.

Oborevwori was declared the next governor of Delta State after the incumbent Governor Ifeanyi Okowa by the Delta State Returning Officer for the governorship election and Vice-Chancellor, University of Porthacout, Prof Owuneri Abraham Georgewill, with a total vote of 360,234.

Adjogbe in a congratulatory message shortly after Oborevwori was announced as the governorship-elect said Deltans have indeed chosen the right man to succeed and sustain the landmark achievements of Governor Okowa.

The young Evwreni-born politician in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State said, “From the very beginning God’s hand was upon Sheriff Oborevwori as envisaged by our amiable Governor Ifeanyi Okowa who saying it that so long as God was involved Oborevwori will triumph in the election.

“Now, it has come to pass, confirming that God is not a man that He should lie. I join Sheriff Oborevwori and his family as well as all Deltans to return all the glory to God for bringing His word to pass.

“Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has proven to be a man of the people as demonstrated even during the campaigns leading to the governorship election of March 18, 2023. Just the way he has united and progressed the State Legislature so also he will advance the development of Delta State in line with his M.O.R.E Agenda.”

Continuing, Adjogbe called on other contestants in the governorship election to put aside ego and sentiments and join hands with the governorship-elect, Oborevwori to sustain the development of Delta State.

“In every contest, there must be a winner. Now that Deltans have chosen their next governor, the best way forward is for other contestants to see his victory as an act of God, rally round him and pray for him to achieve his vision for the state.

“For me, Sheriff Oborevwori will make a good governor and Deltans will be happy for it.”
