Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe has declared his intention to contest the governorship seat of Abia State come 2023.
Abaribe’s Special Assistant on Media, Uche Awom, confirmed the development in a telephone chat with The Nation.
According to him, Abaribe made his intention to contest the gubernatorial race known to the Abia State Governor, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, at the Abia Government House in Umuahia during his visit on Christmas Day.
Awom described the reception accorded Abaribe, who is the current Minority Leader of the Nigerian Senate by the Abia governor as “warm and convivial.”
Abaribe was accompanied on the visit by his supporters and leaders of thought.
