A full-scale investigation has been ordered into a viral video alleging unprofessional conduct by a team of policemen attached to the Ebrumede Division of the Nigeria Police Force in Delta State.

In the video, a young man who identified himself as “DJ Young,” accused the team of policemen of abuse and misconduct when they raided an ongoing birthday party where he was performing.

The DJ alleged that while he was performing the policemen stormed the venue at a hotel on Uti Road by a gas plant in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area.

According to him, while his ‘woman’ who was at the event scampered for safety for fear of being arrested, the sum of Two Hundred Thousand naira (₦200,000.00) in her possession for POS business fell down.

He disclosed that one of the policemen picked up the money, and when he approached them to retrieve it, they descended on him and brutalised him.

DJ Young added that he was thereafter arrested and detained, and when he was released following the intervention of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), the ₦200,000.00 was not returned to him.

Following the viral video of DJ Young in which he lamented the ugly incident, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, apart from condemning the alleged act, ordered an investigation into the matter.
