PDP House of Assembly member, Oharisi, pitches tent with Omo-Agege hours to Saturday’s guber poll

The incumbent member representing Ughelli North Constituency 2 in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Eric Oharisi has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, hours to Saturday, March 18, 2023, governorship and House of Assembly elections.

Oharisi, a prince of Ughelli Kingdom is a two-time member of the State Legislature and the Chairman, House Committee on Science & Technology.

He participated in the PDP House of Assembly primary for Ughelli North Constituency 2 in 2022 in his effort to return to the House for the third time but he did not win.

A few hours after tendering his letter announcing his resignation from the PDP on Thursday he was warmly welcomed into the All Progressives Congress, APC, at his Ughelli residence by the State Chairman, Omeni Sobotie, an engineer, the Coordinator of the Tinubu/Omo-Agege Campaign in Delta Central Senatorial District, Chief Ominimini Obiuwevbi and prominent members of the APC.

His resignation letter dated Wednesday, March 15, 2023, was addressed to the Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party, Ughelli Ward 1/5, Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State.

In the letter, Oharisi wrote, “This is to inform you that effect from today being the 16th day of march, 2023, I hereby ceased to be a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) due to the heinous leadership impunity, annihilation and several plots against I and my thronging supporters, I no longer find values, ethics and ideology of the party’s founding fathers.

Therefore, in order to better serve my thronging supporters in my Ward, Local Government, State and the Country at large, I have decided to end my affiliation with the party and I also thank you and the members of my constituency for the opportunity given to me to serve.”

Among others who also resigned their PDP membership to join Hon. Eric Oharisi in APC were Hon. Chief Macpherson Igbedi President General, Uwheru Kingdom who is the Director General, Hon Prince Eric Oharisi Campaign Organization, Hon Prince (Barr) Happy Oharisi, Comrade Wilson Odibo, Organising Secretary, PDP Delta State and Comrade Ayo Odibo, Secretary General, Hon. Prince Eric Oharisi Campaign Council.
