The Panel of Inquiry into the collapsed church building in Asaba has submitted its report to the state government.

The three-volume report was handed over to the State Government, SSG, Chief Patrick Ukah, in his office in Asaba by the Chairperson of the panel, Dr Mrs Helen Anazia, flanked by other members.

The SSG while receiving the report again assured victims of the collapsed church building at Okpanam, Oshimili North that the Delta State Government would ensure that justice is done at the end of the ongoing investigation.

Chief Ukah, said the eagerness to receive the report which will be subjected to further procedures was due to the very grave concern that the incident of the collapsed building had evoked on the state government.

He also assured that the report will be reviewed towards proffering a lasting solution to the alarming challenge of buildings collapse in the state.

The SSG emphasized that the investigation would also assist the government in its commitment to the provision of urban infrastructure and a general healthy living environment in the state.

The Chairperson of the panel of inquiry, Dr Helen Anazia, disclosed that the panel had investigated the causes of the collapsed building and made recommendations on how to avert future occurrences.

The seven-member Panel of Inquiry was swiftly constituted by the state government to determine the cause of the collapsed building located at number 58 Okpanam road in the capital city territory.

The building at the time of collapse on January 11, 2022, housed a branch of the Salvation Ministry Church which was holding a program when the ugly incident occurred.
