The political suffering of ward 11 in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State from 1999 till date is a call for equity and justice.
Ethiope East is composed of 11 federal and 20 state wards, but since the birth of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, ward 11 which is Isiokolo has not benefited anything politically.
Chief James Onanefe Ibori was governor for eight years and throughout his administration nobody was appointed from the Isiokolo ward 11, but other wards like 3 to 5 got appointments.
Statistically, let us start from Abraka ward 1, where Chief Judith Enamuotor was a first Information Commissioner, then in Abraka ward 2, Dr Kings, a former PDP Chairman and Chief Evans Iwurie got appointment.
In Abraka ward 3, Chief Ben Odjugo and Chief Sunday Onoriode were Caretaker Committee Chairmen of Ethiope East Council. Chief Onoriode was later elected PDP State Organizing Secretary, a position he occupies till date.
Then in Okpara Inland ward 4, Chief Love Ojakovo was a Finance Commissioner, and in Ovu ward 5, Chief Loveth ldisi was elected House of Representatives member for Ethiope Federal Constituency
Also, late Chief Efe Akpobi was appointed as SUBEB Chairman in Kokori ward 6, Chief Hon. Sunny Akpordiogaga Emeyesi was House of Assembly member for 12 years and subsequently another four (4) years as House of Representatives.
Furthermore, we also have Chief (Barr) Mrs Mary lyasere who was a commissioner, Chief George Orogun commissioner, Chief Tony Oboroh elected local government council Chairman, all from ward 7. In Okpara Waterside ward 8, Chief Lucky was a Chairman, Ethiope East Council and Chief Alex lmara was member Delta State Post Primary Education Board.
Then in Eku ward 9, late Chief Ochuko Unuagba was Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government for two terms of 6 years and one year of transition committee.
In Egbo ward 10, Chief Faith Majemite, the outgoing council Chairman has served for two terms and Chief Soap Enakirakpor was appointed as Executive Assistant to the Governor.
However, in Isiokolo ward 11, there is NO APPOINTMENT, NONE ELECTED OFFICER since 1999 of our democratic dispensation, “What a cast of spell, doubted for greatness”, though determined to be delivered from every injustice, oppression and neglects.
Therefore, from the above critical and well articulated political indexes and summation, the good people of Isiokolo ward 11, have resolved and appeal to the constituted authority for fairness, peace, justice and equity, as all inhabitants are bearer of the green environment. So, Isiokolo Ward 11 of Ethiope East federal ward should be given the opportunity to produce the next council Chairman for equity, fairness, peace and justice.
