Delta State Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, has said that his boss, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa remains committed to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and that he is not contemplating dumping the party the way two PDP governors have done in the last two months.

Recall that Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade, on Thursday, May 20, 2021, finally announced his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) after hosting seven APC governors to dinner the previous day in Calabar.

Ayade was followed by the Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle, who on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, officially defected from the PDP to the APC.

Speaking during a live programme of  Arise TV morning show NEWSDAY on Friday, Aniagwu said, “You know we are in the transfer window, but even when it is open there are players who will not leave their team.

“Senator Okowa is one of those players that will not leave his team.

“He is not only a member of PDP because he believes PDP is just a vehicle, he is a member of the PDP because he believes that the PDP has an ideology that serves the interest of the people.

“So, let nobody begin to count he will be one of those who will belong to those who are looking for transfer window to move to another club.

“His club is very comfortable for him and he is going to remain there,” said Aniagwu
