The political family of the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege appears to be in disarray as the State Coordinator, Agege Political Vanguard (APV), Chief Olisa Charles, on Sunday, August 1, 2021, had a private meeting with the governor of Delta State, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa at Government House, Asaba.

Charles, sources told NewsNet is not only a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State but a former political aide in the rank of a Special Assistant in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

A major stakeholder in Delta APC who does not want his name mentioned said if Chief Olisa Charles’s meeting with Okowa on Sunday translates in the coming days to his defection to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, it will be a serious blow to the momentum recently being garnered by Senator Omo-Agege as he continues to strategies ahead to emerge the governor of Delta come 2023.

In a post on his Facebook timeline, Chief Olisa Charles simply said, “Today,01/08/2021 I had a fruitful discussion with the Executive Governor Delta State H.E Senator Ifeanyi Okowa. Happy New Month.”

Meanwhile, officials of Agege Political Vanguard (APV) from Delta South have allegedly expressed disbelief and have disassociated themselves from Chief Olisa Charles’s romance with Governor Okowa.

The Delta South APV, which has arrows such as the State Women Coordinator, Hon. Dcns. Ayu Hopelyn has allegedly planned a strategic meeting describing Chief Olisa Charles to be on his own.
