A bill to amend the Petroleum Training Institute, Effurun Act has passed second reading at the House of Representatives.
The bill is being sponsored by Hon Anthony Afe, who represents Sapele, Okpe, Uvwie Federal Constituency and a three-time member of the Delta State House of Assembly.
Leading the debate on the general principle of the proposed legislation during plenary, Hon Afe stressed the need to upgrade the law which was enacted in 1972 to be in line with the present-day realities for the implementation of the Petroleum Industry Act.
The bill was passed and referred to the Committee on Petroleum Upstream.
