An Urhobo Youth Leader, Comrade Elvis Kporoh has described the recent outburst by the former leader of the Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force, Asari Dokubo over the award of the contract of oil pipeline surveillance to High Chief Government Ekpemukpolo, aka Tompolo as selfish and belligerent.
Comrade Kporoh who is from Udu Local Government Area of Delta State noted High Chief Tompolo has been a field marshal in the quest for the emancipation of the Niger Delta region from economic and environmental deprivation as he is a pan Niger Delta leader.
Speaking during a press conference in Udu, the Urhobo youth leader noted that when the announcement of the contract by the Federal Government was made, Tompolo had meetings with all relevant stakeholders in the Niger Delta to inform them and assured them that the contract is for the youth and women the region.
Comrade Kporoh wondered why Chief Dokunbor is being belligerent and disgruntled when he should support Tompolo to ensure perfect execution of the contract that will increase the quantum of oil production in the region in turn boost revenue derivatives to the nine states.
He sounded a note of warning to Alhaji Dokunbor against beating the drums of war in the region as he would be vehemently resisted noting that the youths and women of Urhobo Nation are standing solidly behind Tompolo.
Comrade Kporoh further said that the antecedents of High Chief Tompolo when he was first awarded the oil pipeline surveillance contract speaks volumes of an all-inclusive and selfless fight for a better Niger Delta.
The Urhobo youth leader, therefore, called on President Muhammadu Buhari and High Chief Tompolo himself to ignore Asari’s ranting because he is a bad loser who crying wolf since he was not the one awarded the surveillance contract.
