The Oil Producing Areas Association of Nigeria, OPAAN, has applauded the Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Maj. Gen. Barry Tariye Ndiomu (rtd) for his excellent stewardship so far since assuming the position.
Ndiomu who hails from Odoni in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, was in September 2022 appointed as the Interim Administrator of the programme by the immediate past President Muhammadu Buhari.
OPAAN President, Chief (Dr) Obiuwevbi Ominimini in a statement on Sunday in Ughelli, Delta State noted that there is a high sense of stability in the programme since the assumption of Ndiomu.
“The competency put to bear by Gen Ndiomu has led to an uninterrupted free flow of the Oil and Gas in the Oil Producing Areas.
“The high level of engagement and consultations of the various leaders of the oil-producing areas by the Administrators is another major area of commendation which was lacking in past the management.
“In view of this, OPAAN scored Gen Ndiomu very high as he has demonstrated a high sense of capability, competence and effective management expertise in managing the Presidential Amnesty Programme without bias.
“In fact, OPAAN passes a vote of confidence on him and therefore calls on all well-meaning indigenes of the oil-producing areas to give the Administrator the needed support to succeed further in the task of his assignment,” said Chief Ominimini.
Ndiomu (rtd) was admitted to the Nigerian Defence Academy as part of the 29th Regular Combatant Course and was commissioned Second Lieutenant in 1983.
He held several command and staff appointments in the course of his successful military career before retiring in December 2017.
