Protest by Niger Delta students against the Nigerian Petroleum Development Corporation, NPDC, has left a female protester hospitalised.
The protest NewsNet Nigeria gathered was staged by the students today Thursday at the NPDC office in Benin City, over alleged sharp practices by the company’s management for their two-day training.
The students it was learnt had boycotted the training when they discovered plans by the management to short change them against what was captured in a document for the training.
During the peaceful aimed at making the management of the company comply with the full terms for the training, one of the policemen attached to the corporation allegedly fired at the protesting students which bullet hit the female protester among them.
NewsNet Nigeria gathered that the victim was rushed to the Nigerian Airforce Medical Centre for treatment.
