The inauguration of the newly constituted Board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has been suspended.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr Boss Mustapha, in a statement announced the suspension of the inauguration of the board as directed by President Muhammadu Buhari.
No reason was given by the SGF for the suspension of the inauguration which was earlier scheduled for Wednesday, November 24, 2021.
The statement said a new date would soon be announced for the ceremony and expressed regrets over inconveniences occasioned by the suspension.
The statement said, “President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the immediate suspension of the inauguration of the newly constituted Board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) scheduled for Wednesday 24th November, 2021 until further notice.
“A new date for the inauguration of the Board will be announced in due course.
“We deeply regret inconveniences caused to members by this suspension, please.”
