Organised Labour in Nigeria has been restrained from embarking on strike over the removal of fuel subsidy in the country.
The restraining order was obtained on Monday by the Federal Government from the National Industrial Court (NIC) sitting in Abuja.
The presiding judge, Justice O.Y. Anuwe granted the exparte application ordering the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) not to proceed with the planned industrial action or strike of any nature pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice fix for June 19, 2023.
The court also directed that the defendants be immediately served with the originating processes in the suit.
