The Secretary-General of Evwreni Clan Improvement Union (ECIU), Ighorodje Oghene Joseph has said that there is no office of Deputy President General of the Union being paraded by one Clement Ishaka.
In a rejoinder, Joseph also distanced Evwreni which is an oil-producing community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State from the comments purportedly made recently by Ishaka on the ongoing calls and counter calls on the renewal of pipeline surveillance contract to Tantita Security Services Ltd owned by ex-militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo.
ECIU scribe in the rejoinder said the opinion canvassed by Clement Ishaka on the pipeline surveillance contract is personal to him and not that of the people of Evwreni as he does not have the mandate to do so.
“I came across a piece of write-up by one Clement Ishaka, who addresses himself as the Deputy President General of Evwreni Clan Improvement Union, ECIU, a social-cultural umbrella body of the indigenous people of Evwreni community living within and in the diaspora.
“When rabble-rousers and charlatans open their mouths, whatever gushes out is falsehood and misrepresentation of facts. It is, therefore, imperative to straighten the records of those affected by the activities of such dubious people.
“For the purpose of clarity, Evwreni is an oil-producing community from Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State in Nigeria.
“First and foremost, I want to make it clear that there is no office of Deputy President General in ECIU.
“Evwreni people are generally law-abiding and would therefore not want to meddle with matters of contracts concerning Tantita Security Services Limited, owned by ex-militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo and the Federal Government of Nigeria,” said Ighorodje Oghene Joseph.
