The Niger Delta Youth Coalition (NDYC) an umbrella body of all Niger Delta Youths, both at home and in the Diaspora has presented an Award of Excellence to a prominent Ijaw leader in Delta State, Chief Julius Babogha, as a “Jewel of Inestimable Value to Niger Delta Youth”.
Presenting the award which was received on behalf of Chief Babogha by his media aide, Mr Fedekefe Bekeakpobo, popularly known as Englishlife, the National President of NDYC, Comrade Obukowho Adaji, said, “In the race of life, only those who are willing to pay the price ever win the prize. It is in line with Chief. Dr. Julius O. Babogha value system that made us to gather here today to honour him.
“The reason behind the conferment of this prestigious award was after a painstaking study of your outstanding leadership qualities, grandiose philanthropy, humanitarian service, avowed commitment to creating employment, entrepreneurial acumen and outright defence of public interest.
“After a well thoughtful review of your antecedents where you have made a remarkable difference in scholarship and distinguished yourself in public to the benefit of society. The leadership of Niger Delta Coalition wishes to make a solemn pledge that in any of your aspirations or endeavours in life, we shall stand shoulder-to-shoulder with you to walk through that path.
“Thus, the fact-finding committee of the Niger Delta Youth Coalition (NDYC) after a series of enquires and as popularly said, “a golden fish has no hiding place”. We have decided to wear you the glittering diadem, “Jewel of Inestimable Value to Niger Delta Youth”.
Chief Babogha, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Tamfei Global Resources Limited & Babsfield Cooperate Venture, thanked the Niger Delta youths for the award and recognition saying it would spur him to continue to create jobs and advocate for the emancipation of the Niger Delta region.
He pledged his support for the group’s proposed capacity building workshop/educational programme with the theme “Education, Doorway to the future” aimed at re-orienting and sowing in the minds of youths of the region, values that will engender growth and make them useful in society.
