Foremost Niger Delta leader, Chief Edwin Clark, has said that he has no link with Genuine Construction Engineering firm, which was allegedly awarded a shoreline protection project by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDD), at Nembe Ogbolomabiri community of Bayelsa state.

In a statement on Sunday by his Senior Special Assistant on Communication, Dr Obiuwevb Ominimini, the Elder statesman and leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), described as faceless and libellous a post which recently was circulated in some social media platforms linking him to the firm which was allegedly awarded the contract at the cost of N7,973,336,024.75, and was expected to be completed in 3 years with 90% contract sum released.

In the statement titled: “THOSE RAISING FALSEHOOD AGAINST CHIEF DR E.K CLARK ARE ENEMIES OF NIGER DELTA”, Chief Clark stated that he does not know of the existence of the said contract and the company, Genuine Construction Engineering firm, hence could not have been the owner.

The statement recalled that this was not the first time the false publication linking him to the company has appeared on social media and it was refuted.

The statement added that the originator of the falsehood also apologised then.

Chief Clark, therefore, advised those recently peddling the false publication to commit their time to things of genuinely profitable ventures rather than engage in an unholy journey for nothing but self-destruction in the end.

The Niger Delta leader, who restated his resolve against corruption and his belief in Nigeria, where nobody is made second class citizen to the others urged members of the public and particularly, Niger Deltans to disregard the defamatory falsehood.
