The Niger-Delta Peace Volunteer Front, NDPVF, has urged multinational oil companies to relocate their head office to their area of operations for efficient and effective services.

The group is also expressed its readiness to support the federal government in fashioning out peaceful solution in tackling the Boko Haram insurgents that have dealt a serious blow with the nation.

The group’s President, Hon. kurata Akassa who gave the assurance while speaking with newsmen in Warri, Delta state, pointed out that the federal government should expedite action in the completion.

He said the group has over the years achieved much in the area of peace and harmony, noting that there is no criminal element in the region that has hidden identity adding that the group will fish out culprits from Ondo to Calabar states with their machinery in place.

Akassa called on the federal government to seek help and support from others to end the Boko Haram insurgency.

“The Federal Government should know that the killings of military personnel on daily basis and other Nigerians are highly regrettable, but they should seek help from the Niger Delta region.

“Boko Haram is not stronger than us nor more dreaded than the Niger Delta youths, but the only difference is that we know what we want and that is what we agitate for,” said Akassa.

He urged the Boko Haram fighters to come out clear with their agitations and demands so that there could be peace in the land.

Akassa, who is so optimistic of the ability of the group to restore peace to Nigeria said the group having been the process of peace for a very long time, have all it takes to negotiate peacefully with any group without payment of ransom.

He promised to do all it takes if only the Buhari led Federal Government will pave way for others to come in to support them.

On oil companies that relocated from the Niger Delta region, Comrade Akassa called on such companies to relocate to the region immediately in order to bring in much development.

He assured of a well-secured environment for their operation and called on the federal government to complete the East-West road.

Akassa recalled that it was the belief that the federal government would keep to its part of the bargain of fast-tracking development in the region that made people like ex-Niger Delta freedom fighter, Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo and his followers to embrace amnesty.

The federal government he advised should diligently implement the promises and agreements reached with various stakeholders and the people of the region to advert resurgence of hostilities in the region.
