Olorogun Jaro Egbo, the chairmanship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for Ughelli North Local Government Council in the forthcoming local government elections in Delta State, has come out plain to say that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori saved his political career from the brink of collapse.

Egbo who until recently clinched the chairmanship ticket of the PDP in Ughelli North for the July 13, 2024, council polls served as Special Adviser on Transport to Governor Oborevwori.

The Ughelli North PDP chairmanship candidate in a heartwarming congratulatory message to Governor Oborevwori as he marks his 61st birthday, said Deltans are indeed lucky to have the Okpe-born politician as their governor because of his strong passion and commitment to advancing the development of the state through his MORE agenda.

“Your Excellency, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, you have indeed one year of your administration demonstrated to all that you came prepared for the governance of our dear Delta State. You have no doubt proved wrong the ‘doubting’ Thomas as you have shown great capacity to meet the yearnings and aspirations of Deltans on whose popular mandate you rode to power.

“I on behalf of my family express hearty congratulations on this auspicious occasion of your 61st birth anniversary and pray God to continue to grant you good health and Solomonic wisdom to deliver your MORE agenda to Deltans,” said Egbo.

Continuing, Egbo paid glowing tribute to Governor Oborevwori for redeeming his political career from collapse, especially at a time when others showed doubt following his many failings.

Describing Governor Oborevwori as his “mentor and daddy”, Olorogun Egbo expressed immense to him for believing so much in him and elevating him to positions through which he can serve in achieving the MORE agenda for all Deltans.

He said, “In July 2023, Your Excellency, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori swore me in as Special Adviser accompanied by a bigger responsibility of handling the multi-million naira State Palliative Committee as the State Coordinator.

“You also made a member of all the important Adhoc Committees including the official trip to China within a space of one year. Above all, you crowned your love towards me by endorsing my candidacy as PDP chairmanship flag bearer for the Ughelli North Local Government Council election. What I have not gotten from politics in 25 years of political career you gave me in just one year.

“My own is to continue to pray for you and be 100 per cent loyal to my mentor Ukodo. May your sun never wane. Happy birthday, Your Excellency.”
