Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Walid Jibrin has inaugurated the Dambam General Hospital in Bauchi State.
The hospital which gulped N330 million was constructed by the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed within twelve months.
Senator Jibrin while performing the ceremony at the premises of the newly completed general hospital on Wednesday, commended Governor Mohammed for improving the healthcare system which was previously in a serious state.
Accompanied by the former Senate President and the Secretary of the PDP board of trustees, Senator Adolphus Wabara, Senator Walid said that the developmental projects been executed across the state by the governor is a replica of his performance when he served as minister of the federal capital territory Abuja.
While describing the governor as one of the great pillars of the PDP, Senator Jibrin noted that Bala has been keeping his state very peaceful, adding that very important and useful projects are been executed by his administration since its inception.
“Your record of excellent performance can be seen in your scorecard when you served as minister of the federal capital territory. I must emphasize that you have fully carried out the objectives of the PDP right from your unit, ward, local government the whole state which is wearing a new look,” he said.
Also speaking, Governor Bala Mohammed said that in order to have a road map at improving the health sector of the State, the government conducted a health summit in the year 2020 in order to brainstorm on health issues after which recommendations were made for an effective health delivery service, adding that the government declared a state of emergency in the sector because of the deteriorating state of health infrastructures.
“We are gathered here today to witness the commissioning of the General hospital Danbam by the Chairman of the board of trustees as one of the attestations of our commitment of using small resources and doing so much at the same time.
“This hospital comes with ten housing units for the medical personnel, especially our doctors so that we reduce the prevalence of attrition and job abandonment which has hitherto infringed on the provision of human capital for the health sector.
“At this point, I must praise the good intention and the patriotic zeal of the minister of health, who not only chaired our health summit in the state but ensured all the agencies and global bodies assistance and that is why what we did is not only restricted to Bauchi initiative.”
