Nigeria’s Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige has directed that the recently elected national officers of the Radio, Television Theatre and Arts Workers Union of Nigeria, RATTAWU, led by Alhaji Kabir Tsanni, should continue to perform the functions of their respective offices.
A statement by the Special Adviser (Technical) to the Minister, Mrs C. C. Dike, said the Tsanni’s led national executive should continue in office while investigations are concluded on issues surrounding the conduct of the national delegates conference held in Zamfara on July 16, 2021.
Senator Ngige in the statement set aside the ministry’s letter of August 12, 2021, by Mrs O.U. Akpan nullifying and voiding the election of the union’s national officers.
The minister enjoined all parties to cease hostilities to allow for a speedy conclusion of the investigation and conciliation.
