The Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) has imposed an indefinite ban on a passenger, Comfort Emmanson, following her altercation with Ibom Air crew on August 10, 2025.
The ban, announced Monday by AON spokesperson Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, applies to all member airlines and covers domestic and international flights.
A viral video of the incident shows Emmanson physically attacking Ibom Air crew members after the aircraft landed.
AON stated that contrary to online claims suggesting the crew assaulted her, “the opposite was actually the reality.”
“We condemn the violent incident involving Ms. Comfort Emmanson, a passenger on Ibom Air flight Q9 303 from Uyo to Lagos.
“Effective immediately, Ms. Emmanson is placed on our ‘No Fly’ list for life,” the statement read.
The AON also noted that such cases of unruly passengers are becoming too frequent, citing past incidents involving musician King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (KWAM 1) on VajueJet and former Edo State governor Senator Adams Oshiomhole on Air Peace.
