The Africa Youth Community International (AYCI) led by its President-General, Ambassador Efe Ekure, on September 17, 2021, hosted the African Continent at the Nigeria Airforce Conference Centre, Kado-Abuja, Nigeria.

The conference had the theme: “Remodeling Young African Leadership” with Prof. P.L.O Lumumba.

The event was officially opened by the Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, Obarisi (Barr) Ovie Omo Agege, who took out time to analyse the current situation in the socio-economic sphere of the African continent.

Omo-Agege admonished youths to be very creative, industrious and resourceful in their chosen endeavours as Africa is ready for youths to saddle prominent positions in government.

Another remarkable high point of the event was a brief and captivating lecture delivered by Hon. Stella Okotete, the Executive Director Business Development, Nexim Bank.

In her lecture, she exposed the African youths on how to grow from small business owners to emerge as big players in the industry.

More so, Nexim Bank executive tutored the participants on how best to access loans from her Office and promised to partner with the AYCI Rice Project.

The conference had a five-man panel of discussants of Air Commodore I.V. Ajiboye, FCT Commissioner of Police, Babaji Sunday, member representing Ethiope Federal Constituency, Hon Ben Igbakpa, Nigerian Youth Ambassador to United State of America, Dr Raymond Edoh and Deputy Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon Ahmed Mohammed.

Issues of discussion centred on insecurity across the Sahara Africa region, its negative effects on the nation Nigeria and how the youths can become the game changers.

Also present was Hon. Prince Ned Nwoko, President and Founder, Ned Nwoko Foundation, who lectured the audience on the role of youths to winning the War Against Malaria in Africa.

He also highlighted the achievements of the Foundation thus far.

Some of the awardees at the conference were Senator Ovie Omo Agege, Hon Ben Igbakpa, Bar. Sam Otobeze, Emir of Gasau, Dr. Charles Apoki, His Excellency Dr. Bobby Moore (South Africa High Commission), Mallam Idris Makanta, Hon. Stella Okotete, Rt Hon. Ahmed Mohammed (Dep Speaker Kogi State House of Assembly, Dr Chimaobi Anyaso, Activist Israel Joe and others.

Ambassador Efe Ekure encouraged the African youths to shun violence, thuggery or other social vices that are inimical to the growth and development of the continent.

He urged them to focus on building an “Africa Of Our Dream” which was the focal point of the Conference.
