The management of Rize 106.7 FM Warri in Delta State says broadcast facilities and other property worth Two Hundred and Fifty Million naira were consumed by fire which gutted the station today Thursday.

Rize FM, which is the second privately-owned radio station in Warri was on Thursday razed down by an early morning inferno.

In a statement electronically sent to NewsNet Nigeria on Thursday evening, the Head of Station, Rize 106.7 FM, Mr Laju Awala, said “The inferno razed down the entire top floor of the building housing all three studios of the organization, the transmitting room, all broadcasting equipment, the news and current affairs department, all computer system and other major offices and property of the organization estimated at over N250m.

“Management, however, use this opportunity to appreciate men of the Delta State Fire Service and Shell Fire Service as well as friends of the station that responded to distress calls and worked collectively to put the fire off.

“While management is putting all efforts in place to get the station back on air, we also appeal for support from members of the public and organisations to support us in all possible ways to enable us continue to blaze the trail of positivity.

“We appeal to our clients specifically and listeners generally, to be patient with us at these challenging times; by the grace of God, this challenge will only be for a short time – we shall bounce back stronger and better.”
