Four persons on Monday morning were burnt beyond recognition following a fatal accident involving a Toyota Sienna and a parked Dangote truck on the popular East-West road by Ekuigbo junction in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
NewsNet Nigeria gathered that the horrific accident occurred around 6am when the Toyota Sienna allegedly conveying illegally refined diesel rammed into the parked Dangote truck and burst into flames.
Eyewitnesses say the vehicle was being pursued by security operatives when it lost control and rammed into the parked truck, leading to an explosion.
Speaking on the fatal accident, the Assistant Corps Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Ughelli Unit Command, Mr Ikechukwu Okwo, confirmed the incident.
Okwo added that he got a distressed call and then mobilised his men to the scene of the accident.
Mr Ibrahim Charles, a member of the Hausa Quarter in Ekuigbo, who also confirmed the incident said that three Hausa persons and one other person lost their lives in the fatal accident.
The four dead bodies have been deposited in the Ughelli Central Hospital.
