Two female children and a woman have been confirmed dead from the collapsed building of Asaba branch of Salvation Ministries in Delta State.
The confirmation of the casualties from the disaster which occurred Tuesday evening by the Delta State Police Command puts an end to earlier reports by some media houses NewsNet Nigeria not included, that ten persons died from the collapsed building.
A terse message which was sent to NewsNet Nigeria by the Command spokesman, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Bright Edafe, on Wednesday morning further confirmed that rescue operation on the collapsed building situated in Okpanam near Asaba the state capital was over.
According to the statement, eighteen persons were initially rescued, four discharged and eleven others still receiving treatment.
Salvation Ministries, owned by renowned Nigerian gospel preacher, Bishop David Ibiyeomie, with headquarters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State is is located opposite Rain Oil Okpanam road by Noble Academy, Asaba.
