Okobaro of Ughievwen Kingdom hosts Urhobo kings, calls for sustenance of peace in Delta State

Against rising insecurity in Nigeria, the Okobaro of Ughievwen Kingdom, Owawha II, has called on Deltans to support the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori administration by ensuring peace in their communities.

The Okobaro of Ughievwen Kingdom made the call on Tuesday when he hosted Ukoko r’Ivie r’Urhobo at his palace in Otu-Jeremi, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.

According to the Okobaro, peace in all communities of Delta State is a prerequisite for achieving the MORE Agenda of Governor Oborevwori.

The Ughievwen king noted that Governor Oborevwori has shown capacity so far in the formulation and execution of projects, programmes, and policies.

On the visit of the Urhobo traditional rulers to him, Owawha II disclosed that it was part of their monthly routine parleys towards the well-being and progress of various kingdoms in Urhobo land.

Also, Ovie of Oghara Kingdom, Uku-Oghara na me, Orhife III, said that Nigerians should return to farms to overcome food scarcity.

The Oghara monarch also charged Deltans to exercise patience and support Governor Oborevwori in achieving a prosperous Delta State.

The Osuivie of Agbarho Kingdom, Ogugu I, advocated constitutional roles for traditional institutions saying monarchs are the closest administrators to the people at the grassroots.

Ogugu I who expressed optimism for better Nigeria soonest called on President Bola Tinubu to do more to cushion the effects of the economic hardship on Nigerians.

The monthly meeting of the Ukoko r’Ivie r’Urhobo led by the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, Abe I held at the Palace of Okobaro of Ughievwen Kingdom, Owawha II, was well attended by Urhobo traditional rulers drawn from Delta Central and South Senatorial Districts.
