Latest information has emerged on the burning petroleum tanker that was Friday successfully driven to safety to avert a major disaster in Agbarho town, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
NewsNet Nigeria gathered that the tanker driver, Ejiro Otarigho and his wife, Augustina, got married just two months ago before the incident.
Yesterday Sunday, Otarigho and his wife were at the Living Faith Church, Agbarho, where he was seen with other worshippers praising God for His divine intervention.
Otarigho who since Friday has been trending on both local, national and international media, said when his attention was drawn to the petroleum tanker he was driving being in flame, he made a quick and brave decision to drive it to a safe distance and to avoid loss of lives and property.
He noted that at the time the tanker was burning all he could think was how to save lives and property and thanked God for protecting his life.
His wife, Augustina, who is heavily pregnant said she was still in shock hearing about the bravery of her husband.
She disclosed that they got married two months ago and thanked God for sparing the life of her husband.
The Resident Pastor of Living Faith Church Agbarho, Pastor Johnson Audu said the brave act by Mr Ejiro Otarigho shows that he is a man who God has destined to live adding that his action should be encouraged by rewarding him.
Meanwhile, some Deltans have called on the Delta State and Federal Governments to reward Mr Ejiro Otarigho for his bravery display on Friday evening when he drove a burning petroleum tanker to a safe place to avert what could have been a major disaster at Agbarho in Ughelli North Local Government Area.
The President General of Agbarho Urhobo Improvement Union, AUIU, Chief Igho Odiphri and Chief Osiobe Eric-Okotie said Agbarho will always remember and cherish the historical display of Mr Ejiro Otaorigho.
They noted that his heroic manoeuvring saved the community from disaster and called on the state and federal governments to reward and honour him.
Such reward and honour according to them will encourage Mr Ejiro Otarigho and stir up the spirit of patriotism in Nigerians.
It would be recalled that for about twenty minutes on Friday evening, residents of Agbarho, vehicle owners, commuters and other passersby on the Agbarho axis of the popular East-West road were held spellbound as Mr Ejiro Otarigho, bravery and courageously drove the burning petroleum tanker to safety to avert tragedy.
