Coalition of all Ekpan groups in Uvwie faults performance of Unuevworos in Ekpan community

A coalition of all Ekpan Groups in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State has called on the four Unuevworos in Ekpan to use their offices to enhance the peace, stability and progress of Ekpan community.

In a statement, the coalition accused the Ekpan Unuevworos of not standing on the side of truth and clear conscience which they say have resulted in the backward nature of Ekpan community.

The group faulted the four Unuevworos of Ekpan for failing to speak against the alleged inauguration of one Victory Nanakpero’s Ekpan Development Committee, EDC, even when they knew the Uvwie Local Government Chairman, Ramson Onoyake’s act was illegal as the Comrade Newton Onaodovwan’s EDC led tenure was still in force as the Exco was not dissolved.

The coalition of all Ekpan Groups in the statement allegedly disclosed that the Ekpan Unuevworos in 2019 were foisted on the Ekpan people and revealed that going by that they were not in any way bothered about the people whom they represent but for just their personal interest.

The coalition also fingered the Unuevworos in Ekpan for backing secondary school dropouts to occupy the position of Ekpan Development Committee EDC without recourse to the EDC constitution noting that Stephen Akemu’s tenure was a practical example which led to chaos as over 25 people died in the process.

They added that the Unuevworos always fight and gang up against right-thinking persons in the community who dare to criticize or make suggestions on how the problems in the community can be well resolved stressing that the case of Chief B.O Oyeghe, Pastor Innocent Adjenughure just to mention a few were practical examples on how the Four Ekpan Unuevworos have frustrated efforts of reasonable EDC Chairmen who were elected to inspire positive changes in Ekpan.

The Coalition of all Ekpan Groups stated that following the irresponsible behaviour of Stephen Akemu dissolved EDC Exco in 2021 a Caretaker Committee to administer the committee until normalcy returned, the government appointed another graduate as Chairman in person of Comrade Newton Onaodowan but noted that the same evil Unuevworos from the swearing-in of Onaodowan-led EDC Caretaker Committee till date has instituted series of unnecessary litigations to fight the Onaodowan Chairmanship of the EDC because they are not happy when peace reigns in Ekpan.

The Coalition of all Ekpan groups advised Victory Nanakpero in his best interest to be mindful of the Unuevworos in Ekpan and not succumb to their pressure and desist from parading himself as EDC chairman to avoid incurring the wrath of the law as he was never elected but was foisted on the people an act that is against the EDC constitution of 2012 as amended.
