RERO TV, one of Delta State’s most dynamic and fast-growing online media platforms, is set to celebrate its 5th anniversary with a grand event on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at the Wetland Event Centre, Sapele, Delta State.

Founded in early 2020 by Mr. Akporero Henry, RERO TV emerged during a period of personal and professional uncertainty. From volunteering in Lagos with no financial backing to returning to Sapele with just ₦6,000 and a bold vision, Henry launched the channel with nothing more than a mobile phone and an unwavering passion for grassroots storytelling. Supported by his mother, elder brother, and seasoned mentors in Delta State’s media space, he began documenting local events—giving a voice to communities that often go unheard.

Today, RERO TV stands as a respected and credible media outlet, dedicated to promoting grassroots development, youth inclusion, and community journalism. Its impact has transcended Sapele, influencing media discourse across Delta State and southern Nigeria.

The 5th anniversary celebration will host an array of distinguished guests, including media professionals, traditional rulers, civil society actors, and community leaders. The event will be chaired by Okakuro Dr. Anthony Aghogho Owumi, the Omamigho of Okpe Kingdom, while the Special Guest of Honour will be His Royal Majesty, Udurhie I, Ph.D., the Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom.

Renowned human rights activist and development advocate, Comrade Lucky Ighoyota, will deliver the keynote address, expected to highlight the critical role of local media in driving inclusive development and amplifying grassroots voices.

As part of the event, RERO TV will present special awards to selected Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) in recognition of their unwavering contributions to social justice, humanitarian service, and community development—an initiative reflecting the platform’s commitment to forging partnerships for positive change.

Speaking ahead of the event, RERO TV’s founder and CEO, Mr. Akporero Henry, expressed deep gratitude to supporters and the community:

“This journey has been one of faith, sacrifice, and purpose. From recording events with a phone to becoming a trusted brand followed by thousands, I’m thankful to everyone who believed in us. This 5th anniversary is a celebration of grace, grit, and the power of community.”

The event will commence at 11:00 AM and is open to the public.
