Senator Ned Nwoko has addressed his estranged wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, following her denial of drug use allegations.
According to a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter) and issued by Nwoko’s communication team, the senator emphasized that a single negative drug test does not confirm sustained sobriety or erase previous findings.
The statement stressed that true rehabilitation requires ongoing professional support, honesty, and long-term effort, rather than relying on one test result or a social media post.
Nwoko’s team raised doubts about the methodology of Daniels’ recent test, cautioning against treating it as definitive proof of recovery.
Earlier reports from reputable independent centers in Nigeria and South Africa indicated prior drug and alcohol use. Nwoko’s team stated these findings will be defended in court, with the laboratories expected to verify their accuracy.
They argued that a subsequent negative result only reflects temporary abstinence and does not invalidate earlier medical assessments or the need for professional intervention.
The statement also warned against downplaying the severity of drugs such as MDMA (Molly), noting that the underlying issues fueling the public dispute remain unresolved.
It recalled a previous court ruling in Nwoko’s favor, which dismissed unproven human rights claims filed by Daniels last year.
Nwoko’s team reiterated that the senator had initially chosen discretion to allow Daniels to seek help privately while maintaining a positive co-parenting relationship.
They concluded that any drug test, including Daniels’, should be evaluated alongside independent professional assessments and credible evidence, not social media narratives.
