Delta State Coordinator of Widows Welfare Scheme and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Social Investment Programme, Dr Isioma Okonta says Governor Sheriff Oborevwori had ensured transparent implementation of the D-Cares Livelihood Support Grants Programme initiated under his administration in collaboration with the World Bank to cushion the effects of the general economic hardship among Deltans.

In a statement Dr Okonta commended Governor Oborevwori for his open-door policy and noted that beneficiaries are drawn from the State Social Register cutting across the twenty-five local government areas of the state, irrespective of political affiliations.

He said  Oborevwori had directed all all-embracing implementation of the  Livelihood Support grants process in line with his philosophy to serve as governor of all Deltans.

According to Dr Okonta, “The beneficiaries of the D-Cares Programme numbering thousands across various communities in Delta, are very happy with the governor for his humane and impactful leadership”.

He said the financial empowerment would be sustained in the new year and urged the people to expect greater dividends of democracy as bountiful benefits of the M.O.R.E agenda envisioned by Governor Oborevwori.

“Rt.Hon.Sheriff Oborevwori’s economic policies are designed to put smiles on the faces of Deltans. A governor who professes street credibility believes firmly that the people deserve good governance in a practical leadership style  that guarantees  their material well-being

“My office has been a centre of activities as we welcome more beneficiaries while maintaining due diligence. The governor wants everyone to benefit.

“Let me express profound gratitude to the governor for his magnanimity in ensuring that the vulnerable and less privileged adequately feel the impact of his administration. I urge all Deltans-men and women young and old, to continue to support the governor in his desire for human capital development and provision of social infrastructure towards total transformation of the state,” Dr. Okonta stated.
