Ibim Semenatari, a strong ally of former Transport Minister, Rotimi Amaechi, has dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State.
Semenatari was Commissioner for Information under the administration of Amaechi as governor of the state.
NewsNet Nigeria understands that Semenatari’s resignation from the APC followed an unresolved misunderstanding between her and Amaechi.
Unconfirmed report has it that while she was acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Semenatari allegedly tried to get confirmation as a substantive MD/CEO of NDDC from the Presidency without the knowledge of Amaechi who secured the acting appointment for her.
Amaechi was said to have replaced her with Obong Nsima Ekere when he uncovered her alleged surreptitious move.
Ekere management Board was later confirmed by the 8th Senate of the National Assembly.
